The Bella Foundation, in collaboration with Mallam Razaq Lawal, on Sunday organised a cash empowerment programme for 200 small-scale business owners in honour of the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON. The event was held at ECWA School, Oja Iya, in Badari Ward, Ilorin West Local Government Area.
Speaking at the gathering, Mallam Razaq Lawal said the programme enjoyed the full support of Governor AbdulRazaq, adding that the gesture was aimed at boosting small businesses and enhancing grassroots economic development.
He asserted that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would not win a ward in the 2027 general elections, stating that the party lacked the capacity to challenge the current administration.Lawal urged the beneficiaries to utilise the cash support judiciously to strengthen their various businesses.
Beneficiaries received different categories of financial support, ranging from ₦100,000 to ₦50,000 and ₦25,000.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Prince Sunday Fagbami, encouraged party members to actively participate in the ongoing membership drive, describing it as the pathway to consolidating the party’s strength ahead of future elections.
He commended Alhaji Razaq Lawal for his commitment to community development and urged him to sustain the gesture.
Also speaking, the Councillor and Senior Adviser, Alhaji Saadu Salau, cautioned residents to be wary of individuals who spread fake news or promote narratives aimed at undermining the progress of the state.
He applauded Lawal’s generosity and reaffirmed confidence in Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration.
Chairman of the Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority, Hon. Abdullateef Alakawa, advised political aspirants eyeing the 2027 elections to align themselves with the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, whom he described as the party’s central unifying force.
