The 2023 re-election bid of the Senator representing Kwara North Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar over the weekend received a boost as his constituents came out in large numbers to welcome him and his entourage

The lawmaker was in Edu and Patigi local government areas over the weekend for Stakeholder engagement and empowerment programs for the youths, vulnerable widows and the aged, and the Fulanis.

The dignitaries at the event include APC stakeholders, elders, executives, APC executives, top government functionaries, Community Association reps, Artisans, Students, and Support Groups among others.

The lawmaker upon arrival visited the respected Royal Fathers in Edu and Patigi local government areas to solicit their support and blessings that he has enjoyed in the past three years. The royal fathers in their separate remarks admonished the lawmaker for his tremendous efforts and always-ready style to attend to pressing issues bothering his region.

“Sadiq is our go-to-person and we have no reason not to support his reelection bid because he has performed excellently.” – The Royal Fathers added

Speaking on behalf of the constituents in Lafiagi, SSA Job Creation to Kwara State Governor, Barrister Aliyu Alhassan said the support was necessary so that the lawmaker can continue with his unprecedented developmental strides in the Senate.

According to him, “The interventions of the Senator are unprecedented in Edu LGA. The lawmaker has transformed the landscape and lives of many people not just in Edu LGA, but across Kwara North”. Aliyu added.

Speaking on behalf of the stakeholders in Patigi, Alhaji Uthman Shaaba Muhammed popularly known as Shaaba Emagi hailed the lawmaker for changing the terrain of his constituency at large because of his undeniable performance and competency.

Patigi remained strongly for the progressive, although it was never in doubt and we are assuring you that we will speak with our votes in the general elections,” Alhaji Shaaba added.

Responding, the lawmaker, Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar, however, expressed joy over the support while promising not to let them down but to continue with his empowerment programs that have brought relief to the people.

Sadiq said, “I feel elated for what God has used us to do over the past three years and I am grateful to the people for the confidence and support they have given to me and our party led by our leader the executive Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.

“My target is to continue to facilitate massive infrastructural development, human capital development and to continue to improve on what we have done and been doing in the past couple of years that have warranted our constituents to have shown confidence in me and my team to continue and to make sure we do better,” the lawmaker, Sadiq noted.

Senator Sadiq during his visit to Patigi welcomed defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party who are the think-tank and supporters of the Ex-Member of the House of Representatives representing Edu/Patigi and Moro federal constituency, Hon. Aliyu Ahman-Pategi to the All Progressives Congress. He assured them that they will be treated equally and no one shall be left behind in the pursuit of rebuilding our dear state.

Also, the lawmaker made a surprise visit to the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Office in Patigi, he donated the sum of 500,000 toward the completion of their ongoing secretariat and promised to provide solar in their office after completion.
