President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed the Kwara State Honourable Commissioner for Local Government, Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Arc. Aliyu Muhammad Saifuddeen as a member of Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON). This was contained in a release signed by the Personal Assistant Salihu Muhammad to the Commissioner.
In the release, the appointment of the Commissioner followed the approval of the Kwara State Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and confirmed in a letter signed by the Honourable Minister for Works, Babatunde Raji Fashola.
According to the release, the appointment is effective from 8th December 2021 with a term of three year duration. The letter from Fashola addressed to Arc. Saifuddeen reads in part: “I write to convey the approval of Mr President of your appointment as a Member of the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON) for a three (3) year term, in line with the provision of Section 2. Sub-section 2. (a-d) of Architects Registration Act (2004) with effect from 8th December, 2021.” It stated
It added, “ARCON is statutorily mandated to regulate and control the practice of Architectural Profession in Nigeria and your appointment, therefore is expected to contribute to the growth and development of the sector.” It added.
The statement added that the inauguration is schedule to hold in Abuja on Tuesday, 21st December, 2021.
Arc. Saifuddeen until his appointment into ARCON, was a Fellow of the Nigerian institute of Architects (FNIA) and the Chairman, Admission Committee of the Institute.
