Heads of private Tertiary institutions in Kwara State have been charged to embrace harmonized synergy with other public Tertiary institutions, in order to boost effective service delivery in the Tertiary Education system. This was contained in a press statement signed by the Press Secretary of the Ministry, Monsurat Amuda-Kannike.

The statement read in part “The Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr. Alabi Afees Abolore made this admonition during an interface with Heads of private Colleges of Education, Colleges of Health Technology and Health Sciences, as well as Heads of private Polytechnics, Colleges of Technology and Skill Acquisition Centres in the state.
Dr. Abolore enjoined them to support the policy thrust of the present administration of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq towards a robust output and effective service delivery across the institutions.
The Commissioner also expressed the state government readiness to support the private Tertiary institutions to thrive productively.
Responding, the proprietor of Primera International College of Health Science and Technology, Prof. Jimoh AbdulGafar congratulated the Commissioner on his well deserved appointment, expressing confidence that collaboration with government-owned Tertiary institutions is a good innovation that would further enhance a sustainable and robust service delivery.
Prof. AbdulGafar on behalf of the proprietors of other private Tertiary institutions pledged their support to the state government’s policy thrust and direction to achieve a common goal.
Also speaking, the Proprietor of Rohi Hills Polytechnic, Rev. (Dr.)David Salami applauded the Commissioner’s unique style of administration, adding that the interactive meeting is first of its kind in the history of the Ministry.
In his remarks, the Proprietor, Adewale Ibrahim College of Technology, Prof. Adewale Ibrahim Afonja appreciated the Governor for giving private Tertiary institutions the needed atmosphere and opportunity to thrive.
He stressed the need for government to review their annual renewal fee and also extend its presence across the private Tertiary institutions in the areas of infrastructural development and other basic amenities that would aid the smooth running of the institutions.
The meeting was attended by all Directors in the Ministry of Tertiary Education and All Heads of private Tertiary institutions in the State.”
