In a remarkable initiative aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3, “Health and Well-Being,” the Arakunrin Foundation is launching the “Pad A Girl Child” program with the theme: “Periods, Pads, and Pure Girls Power.” This philanthropic endeavor aims to provide essential menstrual hygiene support to schoolgirls, empowering them with dignity and well-being.
The Arakunrin Foundation has taken a significant step by donating 500 packs of sanitary pads to schoolgirls, ensuring that they have access to the hygiene products essential for their health and comfort.
The program will kick off on November 1, 2023, at 2:00 PM, with a visit to Oyun Baptist High School in Ijagbo, Kwara State. This event promises to be an empowering experience for the students as they receive these crucial supplies.
Subsequently, on November 8, 2023, at 2:00 PM, the Arakunrin Foundation will extend its compassionate gesture to St. Clares Anglican Grammar School in Offa, Kwara State. The foundation’s commitment to the health and well-being of these young girls is undeniable, and this event will exemplify that dedication.
What makes this program even more remarkable is the participation of skilled healthcare professionals from Gentleman Abdulsalam Memorial Hospital in Offa. The nurses will be present to provide educational sessions on menstrual health, hygiene, and to address any questions or concerns the students may have.
This laudable initiative highlights the Arakunrin Foundation’s commitment to fostering health and well-being, particularly among young girls, and reinforces the belief that education and access to menstrual hygiene products are fundamental for female empowerment.
The Arakunrin Foundation invites the community to join them in this noble cause. This program signifies not only a step towards the fulfillment of Sustainable Development Goal 3 but also a significant stride in ensuring the well-being and dignity of girls in Kwara State.
