• Seeks Sen Salihu, Hon Shagaya’s intervention on community welfare

The people of Ayede Community in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State, under the aegis of Mallam Isiaq Adisa, have appealed to the Kwara State Government under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq, CON, to come to the rescue of the residents, urging KWSG not to walk away from the situation.

This was contained in the general meeting held on Sunday, September 10, 2023, in conjunction with Aseyori Community, where not less than 1500 residents attended to deliberate largely on the community development.

Reacting to the scenario, a resident of the community Mallam Abdulganeey Isiaq Koto, generally known as Imole, a Federal Government Licensed Electrical Contractor who also doubles as the State Secretary of the Association of Electrical Installation Practitioners of Nigeria, AEIPON, shared his view on the said development, saying the Ayede Community is now more or less like a town due to not only the number of buildings but also the population. He said that the residents are suffering due to poor electricity access, which is combating the economic status of the community.

On his part, the community secretary, Comrade Olaitan Alabi, sought the concerned offices in Ilorin and Kwara State at large, mostly the Ministry of Energy under the umbrella of Commissioner Abdulganeey Kola, to swiftly react to the yearnings of people of Ayede Community as a matter of urgency.

While contributing to the matter, Abdulwasiu Jimoh, the Community Financial Secretary, x-rayed some critical points, which led to the step of appealing to KWSG for a standby transformer.

In his submission, he made it known boldly that there is a transformer situated at Ogundele Community that serves three major communities at a time, namely Ayede Community, Atere Community, and Ogundele itself, saying the over-load on the said transformer severs its voltage due to the users’ population.

Stepping in, Mr. AbdulRafiu Alao, the leader of Aseyori Community; a suburb community under Ayede, noted that the Ayede Community itself, in terms of population, is rich enough to install a standby transformer that will serve its residents only. He regretted the idea of sharing with neighboring communities.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman of Ayede Community, Mallam Isiaq Alabi, urged not only the Kwara State Government but also the Senator Representing Kwara Central and the Honorable Representative Representing Ilorin/Asa Federal Constituency, Mallam Solihu Mustapha and Hon. Mukthar Tolani Shagaya, to have them at heart in terms of development and a better welfare package.

Alabi reiterated that the Ayede Community is sufficiently qualified to own its transformer, saying that it will boost the economic status of the community to a fault.
