It is with great joy and appreciation that I write about one of the greatest personalities that I have had the privilege to know and work with. The Chairman, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Baba Abdulrauf, is not just a leader but a symbol of humility and a true friend. His impact in our lives cannot be put into words, but I will attempt to express my admiration and gratitude for this noble and humble man.
From the first time I met him through my late political leader, Hon. Olawoyin Abubakar Magaji, and till date, I always struck about his down-to-earth nature and approachability. Despite his high status and position, he greets with a smile and engages in conversations with the utmost humility. He is someone that everyone looks up to and admires, yet he remains grounded and connected with the people. This quality alone sets him apart from many leaders in our society.
I have witnessed firsthand how dedicated Chairman Abdulrazaq is to the wellbeing of our community. Vividly, I could recall how he supports and attends a member’s wedding ceremony in our community. Not only does he arrive early, but he also stays throughout the event, lending his support and blessings to the newlyweds. His presence alone brings joy and happiness to the celebration, and his generosity and kind words leave a lasting impact on the hearts of those present.
But it is not just during celebratory events that Chairman Baba Rauf shows his true character. The incident that truly solidified my admiration for him was when I had an accident with my car, hitting two children in the process. The accident happened near Chuppet Store, Taiwo Road, and the victims were taken to the General Hospital. It was a terrible situation, and I was in shock and worried about the children and their families.
Coincidentally, Chairman Abdulrazaq called me while I was at my workplace and asked about my whereabouts. When I told him I had an accident, his voice was filled with concern and worry. He immediately asked for the hospital’s address and stated his intention to come and provide general assistance. I was amazed at his kindness and compassion towards me, even though the victims were children from prominent families in the city.
Thankfully, one of the children was discharged after receiving treatment, and one of them was still under observation. But for days after the incident, Chairman Abdulrazaq continuously checked on the child’s health and well-being, showing genuine concern and care.
This incident truly highlighted Chairman Abdulrazaq’s character as a leader and a friend. He goes above and beyond his position to serve the people, and his humility and kindness know no bounds. He has not only earned the respect and admiration of our community, but he has also become a friend to us all. We are fortunate to have a leader like him, whose actions speak louder than words and whose character defines what it means to be a true leader.
In conclusion, no words can fully express my gratitude towards Chairman Abdulrazaq. He is a man of integrity, compassion, and humility and has left a lasting impact on everyone who has had the privilege to know him. He is a true leader, a friend, and a role model for us all. I am proud and honoured to have him as our chairman, and I pray that his leadership and humble nature continue to inspire and guide us.
