Prof. Isa Ali Pantanmi has charged the Zamfara State government, Emirs and other leaders to be just, fearful, kind and merciful to their followers. He made this statement on Saturday, 24th December, 2022 at the grand finale of 37th National Quranic Recitation Competition, 2023 held at Gusau, Zamfara State.
In his expression: ” if the leaders-political and religious- are just, fearful, and merciful, the followers will be law abiding and they will respect their leaders. That is what Allah is drawing our attentions to in Suratu Nahl Q.16, V.90:
‘Allah commands justice, the doing of good, and liberality to kith and kin, and He forbids all shameful deeds, and injustice and rebellion: He instructs you, that ye may receive admonition.’
The Minister of Communication and Digital Economy Prof. Isa, Ali Pantanmi representing the President Muhammad Buhari, GCFR at National Quranic Recitation Competition has urged the followers to be law abiding citizens and avoid taking laws into their hands.
Professor also encouraged Muslims on the understanding of Quran and abiding by its rules: ” I encourage our Muslims to understand the Quran and the teaching of it, because it is a universal guidance from the Lord. If it is read extensively and studied intensively, it is enough to make us a better citizens and nation. We will discover that our religion teaches nothing but peace, unity and tolerance” he encouraged.
Moreover, he also appreciated and commended the efforts of the State Government on the support they have given so far, for the success of the competition. He was also poised to have submitted in conjunction with the Quranic Organizing Committee that the hospitality recieved in Zamfara State are indeed commendable that the host is of no match since the last ten years.
Furthermore, he appreciated the Sultan of Sokoto and Centre for Islamic Studies, Usman Danfodio University for their consistent in the organizing of the Quranic competition. In his statement:
“Mr. President directed me to commend Sultan of Sokoto and Usman Danfodio University for being very consistent in organizing this Quranic Recitation Competition. It encourages our citizens to learn more about Quran and to be challenged to memorize by heart. The efforts of Sultan and that of Usman Danfodio University are so commended ” he said.
The dignitaries in attendance are Prof. Isa Ali Pantanmi representing the President of Nigeria, Governor of Zamfara State, Sultan of Sokoto, Emir of Gusau and other Emirs, Governor Miami, Republic of Niger; Senators, Federal House of Representatives, State House of Assembly Members, Vice Chancellor Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto among many others.
The National Quranic Recitation Competition comprises of male and female representatives from each State across the federation in different categories: 20-Hisb, 40-Hisb, complete Quran and Tasfeer (translation).
The overall winners for male section are: Nura Abdullahi Bello, Sokoto State; Abdullahi Sadiqu Sodiq, Zamfara State; Muhammad Salisu Abdullahi Abbah, Niger State; Muhammad Kabiru Sanni, Kebbi State; Faruk Kabir Yakubu, Kano State; Usman Abubakar Itekhllahi; Kaduna State; with first, second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth position respectively.
The overall female winners are: Aisha Abdulmutalib Muhammad, Yobe State; Maimunat Hussaini Badeggi, Abuja; Aisha Kabiru Shuaibu, Gombe State; Zainab Muhammad, Kano State; Fatima Mustapha, Kaduna State; Fatima Ahmad Danmama, Nassarawa State; with first, second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth position respectively.
The prizes like cars, Hajj, cash price and computers are for the first winner in both section (male and female) courtesy of the President Muhammad Buhari, while other winners will also go home with prices, computer and other things.
