CEO of Kursi Investment, Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahyah Seriki, emphasized the importance of prioritizing community development within the mining industry.
Speaking to the press on day 3 of the 5th National Council on Mining and Mineral Resources Development (NCMMRD) meeting in Ilorin today, Seriki urged individuals in the sector to focus on benefiting their host communities and the state at large.
According to Seriki, regardless of one’s location, the development of the community that nurtured them should be a top priority. He stressed, “No matter where you are, if you cannot develop the community that brought you up, you are nothing.”
The 3-day program, organized by the Federal Government of Nigeria in collaboration with the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development and Steel Development, along with the Kwara State Ministry of Solid Minerals, concluded in Ilorin after extensive discussions and contributions from various stakeholders in the mining industry. Plans are now in place to implement initiatives aimed at advancing mining activities in Nigeria.
