Citizen led Educational interventions; the solution to state of education in Kwara state – Kwara Youth Circle.

The Acting coordinator of the Education circuit, Mr Sanni Sheu-Ahmad had revealed action plans embarked upon by him and his peers to address the dire state of education in Kwara state. He listed a number of Citizen led Educational intervention schemes and a policy draft compiled by Kwara youths which could form the basis for educational transformation in the state.
Speaking at a press conference organized by Kwara Youth Circle to present the circuits formed as a result of the recommendations of KYC youth summit in 2020 where the youths resolved to come up with actionable plans and implement such schemes that would address the issues raised. The proposed non partisan, social development alliances were called circuits. Education circuits and Economy circuits were the two groups on ground to present what they have achieved and their plans ahead.
Sheu-Ahmad in his address said everyone in the society must be co-opted to solve the education deficit in our society. He called on the media, socio-cultural groups, Royal fathers, corporate bodies, Education Authorities and education investors to work with the youths in implementing the proposed action plans. He expressed readiness to hand over to the policy draft to education authorities to consider implementing or consulting from.
Also speaking at the event, comrade Mahmood Abdullahi Loke, the convener of Kwara Youth Circle stated the progress made by youths aftermath of the last summit. He posited that the 2021 edition would be about scorecards of how much youths have done to address the issued raised in previous edition. He called on capable Kwara youths to rally round and form similar circuits to address one of the issues in our society in Security, health, justice, Economy, Policy and Governance.
