CKNG constitutes stakeholders engagement committee

In a bid to strengthen unity among the leaders and stakeholders across Kwara North and foster development across the Senatorial District, the Coalition of Kwara North Groups (CKNG) a leading advocacy group of the region has constituted a strong committee mandated to reach out to the leaders and stakeholders of the senatorial district.

Addressing the Committee at the inaugural meeting, the Chairman of CKNG Comrade Abdulqadir Yusuf (Esq.) commended the committee members for accepting to render such a complex humanitarian service, noting that part of their terms of reference is to ensure unity among the leaders and stakeholders of Kwara North regardless of their political affiliations or local governments of origin.

“It is also expected of the committee to ensure that they encourage influential personalities from the Senatorial District in various fields of endeavour across the world on the need to start economic investment in the region and its people in order to achieve the overall development of the senatorial district.” He added.

Comrade Abdulqadir promised that the leadership of the CKNG will do all that is possible to ensure the committee succeed in the task being assigned. Adding that the leadership of CKNG is confident in the membership of the committee comprising of individuals from various political parties and local governments who were selected based on their antecedents in community of service.

The membership of the Committee includes; Nafisat Musa Buge – Baruten, Umar Farouq Idris Baruten, Barr. Ibn Mahmud Haruna Geo- Baruten, Sanni Ibrahim Alhaji- Edu, Musa Muhammed Alhaji- Edu, Joseph Yisa- Edu, Mohammed Salihu- Kaiama, Hayyatudeen Haliru- Kaiama and Mohammed Abdulazeez- Kaiama.

Others are Nura Muhammad- Moro, Kolawole Pascal- Moro, AbdulAzeez Jegede- Moro, Alhassan Mohammed- Patigi, Saidu Attahiru Manko- Patigi and Mathew Joseph Mazhi-Patigi.

Parts of the terms of reference for the committee include: To identify critical Kwara North Stakeholders for engagement in line with the mission, vision and objective of CKNG.
2. To along with the stakeholders, identify the challenges of Kwara North caused by disunity amongst Groups of Kwara Northerners and ways forward.
3. To emphasize the need for unity among Kwara Northerners.
4. To lay foundation for continuous interaction and interface between the different faucets of leaders and the leds in Kwara North.
5. To encourage those with financial resources and networks to establish industries in the areas of comparative advantage, while also investing in the value-chains of commodities in Kwara North.
6. To encourage sustainable socioeconomic and political empowerment of Kwara North youths.
7. Advance for more career and political positions in the State and Federal level.
9. To workout a quarterly meeting of all Kwara North Stakeholders, including the elected and appointed ones to foster unity and bridge communication gaps.
