The All Progressive Youth Forum (APYF) Kwara State Chapter has called Gov Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to immediately make public declaration of his intent to contest for second term.
This is contains in a statement from the Press Conference held earlier today by the Kwara APC Youth Group held a press conference at its Secretariat, Fate road Ilorin.
The APC youths group said the call became necessary following series of development project that the Governor’s administration has been bringing to the nooks and crannies of Kwara State, saying that they are ready to support the Governor and work assiduously for his re-elected in the coming 2023 governorship elections.
The statement added the prolonged silence of the Governor on his second term ambition and the delay in acquisition of Expression of Interest Form is causing discomfort among party loyalists and supporters of the Governor generally.
The statement reads:
Ahead of the proposed ward congresses to elect delegates in preparation for the party primaries, the All Progressives Youth Forum (APYF) Kwara State chapter wishes to commend and express a vote of confidence in the leadership and structures of the party at various levels in the peaceful manner in which the processes is so far being conducted.
Kwara APYF also wish to commend the prospective aspirants, especially the Youths among them, who have so far summoned the courage to purchase the Expression of Interest forms for various positions in the forthcoming general election. It is important to state that the ability of those who have against all odds dared to acquire the Expression of Interest form have demonstrated their patriotic zeal and are ready to sacrifice to serve the state and the country at large. Kwara APYF therefore wish to assure those youths that the forum will do all that is possible to support those of them who will eventually emerged as the standard flag bearers of the available positions for the 2023 general elections.
That being said, Kwara APYF wish to unequivocally call on His Excellency, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq , (Kaura Kaiama) to within the next 72 hours, make a public declaration of his intent to re-contest for the Number-One Seat in the state, else the forum will not hesitate to mobilize its member and other groups for protest in front of Government House, and will remained there until the Governor yield to their demand. This call became inevitable as the continue delay by the Governor is becoming discomforting by the day.
It may also interest the Governor to note that the Kwara APYF in conjunction with other youth forums on the platform of APC have concluded plans to mobilize fund to purchase Expression of Interest Form for the Governor, this is against the backdrop that the governor in his unassuming character may decide not to recontest for the office, a decision many of the party loyalists are afraid of and will reject it in its entirety. Hence, if the Gov. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq is thinking towards that line, he is strongly advised to jettison such line of thought with immediate effect and listen to the voices of reasons as expressed by the good people of Kwara, including the traditional leaders of the state by declaring his intent to go for second term, an indication and assurance that he and other APC aspirants will emerge victorious at the 2023 polls by God grace.
Again, this call became necessary as facts have clearly shown that we the youths are the major beneficiary of he Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq led administration, the demography of appointments in the area of governance and in the party structure across at various levels have attested to this. This is also coupled with his unprecedented developmental strides across every sectors of the state.
Conclusively, it is important for the Governor to note that Kwarans have enjoyed his style of administration and have made up their minds that they will be under his leadership for the next four years again, as such many will be heartbroken should the Governor decides otherwise, a decision which for the umpteenth time will be totally unacceptable by APYF and other party loyalists.
