Principal applauds Gov AbdulRazaq on school infrastructure upgrade
Kwara State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr Lawal Olohungbebe, has charged the teachers and other members of staff in the state-owned public schools to be punctual at work and dutiful.
The commissioner, who gave the charge during his oversight visits alongside the ministry’s officials, to selected schools in Ilorin, urged the staff to shun all forms of indolence as well as absenteeism.
Olohungbebe stressed the need for them to compliment the government’s efforts in providing qualitative education, adding that he was on the visit to encourage the teachers to give their best in the discharge of their duties.
“This is an oversight visit for me to have first-hand information about your level of compliance with the guidelines and directives of the ministry. I am here to see that the right thing is being done by both the staff and the students,” he noted.
He commended the management and staff of the schools he visited for maintaining clean and safe environments, urging them to sustain the practice.
For her part, the Junior Principal of the Government Day Secondary School, Tanke, Mrs Adebara Janet Olufunke, applauded the present administration in revamping the education sector in the state through provision of more classrooms and the re-construction of the school’s fence.
She, therefore, on behalf of the management and staff of the school, assured the commissioner of their readiness to reciprocate the kind gesture of the government in improving the quality of education.
The schools visited were Queen Elizabeth School (Ilorin West), Government Secondary School, Ilorin (Ilorin East), Community Secondary School, Sango-Eleboto, Fate-Basin Secondary School, Fate, and Government Day Secondary School, Tanke, all in Ilorin South Local Government Area of the State.
