In a world where negativity seems to dominate the headlines, it’s refreshing to hear heartwarming stories of communities coming together to support a greater cause. Such is the case in Kwara State, Nigeria, where HRH Oba Michael Kayode Owolabi (JP), Alara of Isare-Opin, welcomed the Project SIP team with open arms and offered his royal blessings for their initiative.

The initiative has already made a significant impact, reaching 18 schools across 13 local government areas today and providing thousands of students with new sandals. This simple yet powerful gesture has not only improved the children’s physical comfort but also boosted their self-esteem and academic performance.

Alh Shittu, the Chief Imam of Isare Opin, praised Mr. Ibrahim Kale Jimoh (CEO, Kalia Footwear Production), the convener of Project SIP, the Project SIP Team through Ambassador Anjorin, the representative of Project SIP, during the visit and distribution of free quality sandals to pupils of Isare Opin Grammar School and Isare Opin Primary School, Ekiti LGA, Kwara State. Imam Shittu acknowledged Ambassador Anjorin as a worthy messenger, expressing hopes that he will soon become a messenger of the Federal Government.

Beneficiaries, while saying thank you, “SIP,”  one of their teachers who speaks with us lauds the initiative. She states further that they used to send students with ugly sandals home, and both the students and teachers are not happy doing that but have to comply with the school norms. This is a very good project that’ll improve their academic performance. So, we commend you and appreciate your gestures!

The fourth edition of Project SIP, tagged Project SIP 4.0, was unveiled on September 20, 2024. This edition aims to expand the project’s reach, touching the lives of more students in need. The success of Project SIP relies on community support, local businesses, and individuals who believe in the power of education.

You can contribute to this noble cause through donations, volunteering, or spreading the word. Every contribution counts in ensuring that no child in Kwara State has to walk to school without proper footwear. Project SIP is more than just a footwear initiative; it’s a movement championing the right to education and dignity for every child.
