Engr Rotimi inspects Tanke Oke-Odo road projects, assures dwellers of completion

Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr Rotimi Suleiman Iliasu, on Monday, continued his inspection tour of major road projects being carried out by the Kwara State Government in the state capital metropolis.

The APC House of Rep Candidate, representing Moro/Edu/Patigi Federal constituency accompanied the Engr Rotimi Suleiman to the ongoing construction site at Tanke Oke-Odo ring road, Ilorin south LGA and present are Ilorin South stakeholders; Mallam Hakeem Jaji, Ilorin South APC Chairman; Ore Abdulmumini, Kwara Central APC Youth Leader; Mallam Saliu Abdulmumini, Akanbi Ward IV APC Chairman; Kehinde Aliu, Akanbi Ward IV Women Leader at Tanke Oke-Odo.

“I am here to inspect and have the spot assessment to ascertain the level of work and interact with residents and traders along the corridor of the road” Engr. Rotimi said.

While addressing the residents and traders at Tanke Oke-Odo, Engr Rotimi reiterated that the Kwara State Government led by Mallam Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq will continue to prioritize the welfare of the residents of the state. He assured the residents of the area that adequate hydraulic structures will be constructed to properly channel runoff water, especially during the rainy season.

He further assured them that the road is expected to be completed within the next 2 months and its phase 2 has been captured under RAAMP, Tanke Oke-Odo road construction will be extended through Agbabiaka to Amoyo and this phase is expected to start before the end of 2022.

In their respective responses on behalf of the community, Alhaja Awahu Muhammed, Mrs Kehinde Aliu and Mallam Saliu Abdulmumin commended the Governor for embarking on the Tanke Oke-Odo ring road which was abandoned by past administrations, pledging the community‚Äôs support for the Governor’s second term aspiration.

Engr Rotimi also commended the residents of the area for supporting the contractor, assuring them that the road would soon be completed.

Earlier, the Magaji of Jalala Community Tanke Oke-Odo, Mallam Saheed Akanno, appreciated the Governor for the construction of the road which he said had been in deplorable condition for years.

He also stated that since the construction of the road began, the economy of the area has improved tremendously.
