Within this interview, Rotimi shared captivating insights into the football game between the Harmony Engineers from Kwara and the Ikeja Engineers from Lagos State. With unwavering confidence, he reported that the Harmony Boys were leading 1-0 at halftime in the NSE game quarterfinals, expressing his firm belief in their imminent victory.

Furthermore, Engineer Suleiman Rotimi Iliasu addressed allegations connecting him to the EFCC, vehemently refuting any contact with the organization and attributing such claims to political motives. He emphasized, “It’s all part of politics; when you’re involved, you can’t avoid some splashes.”

The interview also delved into the widely circulated video of the Tanke Flyover. Rotimi provided a comprehensive analysis of the flyover’s construction, discussing structural design, materials, and engineering prowess. He underscored the significance of considering various perspectives when assessing the success of infrastructure projects.

“When it comes to bridges, concrete structures are engineered to efficiently manage water flow, especially when asphalt and earthwork are executed correctly. Properly done asphalt work prevents water from seeping into the laterite layer, enabling smooth drainage. The video was captured during the bridge’s construction phase, with engineers awaiting the placement of expansion joints and the final asphalt work, which would avert water-related concerns. It’s imperative to remember that such videos are sometimes shared with mischievous intentions, emphasizing the importance of considering the entire context. The bridge has now been completed and can withstand rainfall without any issues,” he clarified.

Regarding the Kwara State Government’s preparedness for the road connectivity issues caused by flooding, he confidently affirmed the constant preparedness of the Kwara State Governor and the Ministry of Works to address this flood concern.
