Femi Yusuf unveils plan to fix Education Architecture, Scholarship schemes

The Executive Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, Hadji Abdulrasheed Femi Yusuf, inaugurated the Special Education Activation Assessment Committee on Monday at the Council Secretariat in Shaare.

The committee, comprising experienced educators, has been tasked with evaluating the current state of educational facilities, supporting teacher and student scholarship development, and formulating strategies to elevate Ifelodun’s academic performance across Kwara State.

During the inauguration, the Chairman explained his vision to improve the educational system in Ifelodun and foster an environment where students and teachers are motivated to excel. “Our administration’s goal is to push Ifelodun to the top in every sector. We are committed to developing the education sector.”

“The committee is expected to provide recommendations on strategies to support teacher development, analyze and address key educational challenges in the Local Government, and evaluate the physical infrastructure of primary schools to identify areas in need of attention,” he stated.

The Chairman also mentioned the importance of supporting students in higher education, particularly those studying Medicine, Law, and Agriculture, through scholarships and bursaries.

The committee is chaired by Alhaja Barakat Atunde, former HOD of Education in Ifelodun. Other members include Dr. Dauda Ademola, Elder Olu Ajisafe, Alhaji Sikiru Yahaya, Prince Yinka Aliu, Mr. Kamal Omotunde, Hon. Rafiu Zubair, and Mallam Mukaila Yakub.

Other members are Alhaja Rasheedat Abdulkareem, Elizabeth Titilayo Olawepo, Princess Shade Elemosho, Comrade Olumide Adebayo, and Hon. Al-Amin Yahaya who serves as the committee’s Secretary.

In her acceptance speech, Committee Chair Alhaja Barakat expressed gratitude to the Chairman and the Local Government management for this groundbreaking initiative. “In my 35 years of service, I have not seen a program like this. It is truly commendable. On behalf of the committee, I assure the council that we will leave no stone unturned in our mission to improve the education sector for the future of our great Local Government.” he concluded
