*Takes campaign to Oke-Ode District

The Chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ifelodun Local Government Area, Hon. Abdulrasheed Femi Yusuf, has unveiled plans to create a social Investment programme to mimic the Kwara State Social Investment Programme of the State Government.

This much was unveiled during his campaign tour of Oke-Ode District yesterday, stressing that Small and Medium Scale enterprises which used to be the cornerstone of commercial activities of the local government must be prioritised, if we must restore life back to our various communities.

Yusuf who expressed delight in the people, for defying the heavy downpour to receive him, in Shaagbe, Oke-Ode township and Labaka-Oja respectively, promised to ensure a social Investment programme that’ll reach-out to the aged, youth and traders across the nooks and crannies of the local government without stressing or burdening the beneficiaries.

He said “I am highly honoured that despite the heavy showers of blessing, the people of Oke-Ode district trooped out to receive me, the massive turnout in the 3 wards is highly impressive, I assure you that if voted, I’ll remember this day, the sacrifices of all and sundry, yearnings of our various communities and ensure we hit the ground running”

Yusuf popularly called Kotokoto however enjoined the stakeholders and party members to close ranks and ensure Ifelodun speaks with one voice moving forward, adding that it is only with a united voice, that Ifelodun can return to its rightful place in the State.

Speaking earlier, the party Chairman in the local government, Arch. Lukman Abubakar appreciated the party faithfuls across the local government for the crisis free local government elections primaries, adding that the Governor is very happy with the seamless process, charging them to troop out enmasse to vote the APC come next week Saturday.

He said “The Governor is very happy with the seamless and rancour free local government elections primaries we conducted few weeks back, he had asked me to enjoin us all to peacefully come out next week Saturday to vote massively for the party.

“The Governor has taken notice of the state of the Igbaja/Oke-Ode/Share road and I can assure you actions will be expedited on finding a lasting solution to the road” he promised.

Commending the sustained trust of the people of Oke-Ode District to the Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq led Kwara State Government, Hon. AGF Abdulrazaq, promised more dividends of Democracy to the people of the District, adding that the Governor is a meticulous advocate of equity and justice, who prioritises even distribution of resources and infrastructure.

“The Igbaja/Oke-Ode/Share road is very important to the Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq Kwara State Government, that’s why he recently came for an unannounced personal assessment of the state of the road, I’m glad to inform you that he’s sent atleast 3 different teams for professional assessment.

“We must have seen the commencement of comprehensive upgrade of the road from the Igbaja axis, that’s a sign that the Governor has listened to our cries and in the shortest possible time, traveling on the road will no longer be nightmarish” he added.

The campaign Director General, Hon. Fatai Labaka, a son of the District, assured the candidate and the campaign entourage to be rest assured that the District will deliver unprecedented vote turnout, stressing that the District is historically known as the determinant of electoral victors.

“Historically, whoever Oke-Ode District votes for, always emerges victorious, this time around won’t be different, we’ll massively vote for the candidacy of Hon. Femi Yusuf and he’ll go on to not only win, but take Ifelodun to the next level” he added.
