A former cabinet member in the government of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Honourable Ibrahim Akaje, popularly known as “AkajeMyRep” has reacted to the recent statement credited to the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Governor of Edo state, Senator Adams Oshiomhole.

Hon. Akaje, who was an aspirant in the 2018 House of Representatives primary election in Kwara, has registered his dismay to reports suggesting that money meant for nomination forms were returned to some aspirants in Kwara.

According to him: “If 800 million and 220 million Naira was actually returned to candidates as alleged by Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, who then has the gut to sit on the 4 million Naira that I used to purchase my House of Representatives nomination form in 2018? The money is sitting somewhere and must be produced! The youths who came together to push my aspirations aren’t fools!”

Senator Oshiomhole whilst giving a remark at the book launch of Salihu Lukman, erstwhile Director General of the Progressive Governors Forum, claimed that money was used to reinforce the Otoge struggle that dislodged Senator Bukola Saraki as the political lord in Kwara state.

In his words: “We sent almost N800 million to reinforce Otoge agenda, and I am happy we wiped out the Saraki dynasty. It was not a loan but a grant from the APC treasury.”

He also claimed to have refunded about N220 million to some aspirants who contested in the primary elections, according to him, “It was a battle that must be fought and won because we must put our money where we are putting our mouth.”
