The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Kwara Axis, and the National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS) National Headquarters have jointly praised Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq, for his generous distribution of food palliatives to students across the state in celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.

The gesture, which has been described as a testament to the Governor’s commitment to student welfare, has earned him widespread appreciation and the title of “Students-Friendly Governor.

In a statement released today, NANS Kwara Axis expressed gratitude for the Governor’s consistent support, highlighting his inclusive leadership. “We are deeply thankful for the Governor’s kindness, particularly during this Eid-el-Fitr period. His provision of rich food items to students across tertiary institutions in Kwara demonstrates his dedication to our well-being, irrespective of background,” the statement read.

The association noted that this year’s palliative distribution follows a similar act of generosity in 2024, facilitated through the office of the Special Assistant on Students Affairs, Comrade Salami Wasiu Onidugbe.

NAKSS National Headquarters echoed these sentiments in a separate press release, commending the equitable distribution of the relief packages across the state’s three senatorial districts. “The palliatives were shared fairly among student bodies, ensuring that every union received its designated portion,” the release stated. “This initiative reflects the Governor’s ongoing commitment to unity and support for the student community, especially during challenging economic times.”

The student bodies described the Governor’s efforts as “Capo di tutti capi” – a phrase underscoring his exemplary leadership – and urged the Kwara State Government to sustain such student-friendly initiatives. “We enthusiastically receive these palliatives and encourage the administration to continue prioritizing student welfare,” NANS Kwara added.

As the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations unfold, both organizations extended their appreciation to the leadership of beneficiary unions for ensuring a transparent and seamless distribution process. They also called on students to embrace the values of compassion, unity, and gratitude during this festive season.
