Leader of the House, Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Abubakar Olawoyin Magaji is set to empower 500 people in Ilorin Central Constituency.
The program tagged, “Promoting Economic Empowerment” is scheduled to come up on the 5th March 2022 at Baptist Primary School, Surulere Area, Ilorin, Kwara State by 10:00 am prompt. The plan is aimed at curbing the effect of this harsh socio-economy and unemployment battling the people of his constituency.
PrudentWatch gathered the information through the Honourable’s Media Team disclosed that the lawmaker representing Ilorin Central Constituency at the State Assembly will empower five hundred people and beneficiaries will cut across Baboko/Badari/Magaji Ngeri/Oko-Erin/Warah-Osin and other parts of Ilorin West and Asa local government areas to promote women business capacity, take the youth off the street and build self-reliant students.
“It’s apparent that times are hard, and our people are struggling greatly to become an asset not only for themselves but the society at large. Our representation is premised on prioritizing and promoting the interest of the masses. Hence, the need to implant massive economic empowerment”, Hon. Olawoyin, said.
“We have made a substantial provision and strategy on the ground to ensure the opportunities are channeled to the appropriate quarters. This is why potential beneficiaries will be screened and trained, particularly those that’ll be given POS Machine”, he added.
The Chairman, Empowerment Planning Committee who’s also the Welfare Director, APC, Ilorin West LGA, Mr. Ibrahim Abdullahi make known that, cash empowerment for over 300 indigent, 100 POS Machines, 10 Sewing Machines, 30 Weaving Machines, 10 Grinding Machine, 10 Motorcycle, 10 Fridge, 2 Tricycle among others.
Mr. Ibrahim Abdullahi mentioned that the cash empowerment given to the recipients was non-refundable and beneficiaries with track records will be strictly followed up after the program to ensure adequate use of the equipment.
