Earlier Today, in front of the Secretariat of the Ilorin Emirate Student Union National Headquarters, The National Executive Council of the Ilorin Emirate Student Union convened an award ceremony to formally present cash prizes to outstanding participants in the National Emirate Essay Competition. This prestigious writing contest owes its success to the gracious sponsorship of Hon. Yakub Babatunde Prudent, the Senior Special Assistant to the National APC Youth Leader.
In an exclusive interview with Shaykh Daud Ridwan Sarumi, the National President of Ilorin Emirate Students’ Union (National Headquarters) and the visionary behind this remarkable competition, it was disclosed that they had received an impressive total of 25 entries from indigenous students hailing from diverse corners of Nigeria. These essays underwent meticulous evaluation, considering factors such as diction, composition, content, and their aptitude for addressing contemporary challenges within Ilorin Emirate. The National President underscored the critical importance of addressing issues like the Isese Saga in a modern context, emphasizing the necessity of relevance and innovation in the essays submitted.
At the cheque presentation ceremony, the top three winners were awarded as follows: The first-place, Shuaib Mubarak Assayouti received a generous prize of N50,000, the second-place winner, Abdulkareem Abdul Rasheed, was granted N30,000, and the third-place contestant, Abdulmujeeb Ayomide Awodi, was presented with a cash prize of N20,000.
Shuaib Mubarak Assayuty emerged as the first runner-up in the competition. During an interview with a correspondent from PRUDENT WATCH, Shuaib offered profound insights into his research journey and the obstacles he surmounted. He emphasized the significance of conducting comprehensive research, which involved gathering information from various corners of Ilorin to gain a holistic understanding of emerging issues. Shuaib expressed heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Yakub Babatunde Prudent, the visionary sponsor behind the competition, and extended sincere prayers for the continued prosperity and blessings of the organizers.
