The Chairman during the assessment tour, commended the ongoing State Government on the ongoing dualisation of the Owode/Ofaro – Alabe road, adding that the local government will complement the efforts by grading adjoining roads of neighbouring communities among others.
During the assessment stops, the Chairman separately held consultative and fact finding engagements with key traditional rulers, including the Olu of Owode Ofaru, the Afin of Afin, the Onikosin of Ikosin, and the Oloreke of Oreke, Aniwo of Afin, Oloreke of Oreke-Okegbo, the community vigilantes, Divisional Police Officers, among others,
In separate addresses, he assured them of his administration’s efforts to tackle thr security issues in the region, complementing the state government’s initiatives led by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
“We have taken steps to complement our Governor’s efforts in terms of security. Our focus remains the well-being of our people. At the local government level, we are addressing security loopholes, and soon, we will rid our communities of criminal elements,” Chairman Femi Yusuf assured.
He also promised to improve infrastructure, specifically roads, to facilitate better movement and enhance business activities. “Road connectivity has caught our attention, and we are committed to addressing it. This will not only curb insecurity but also boost economic growth in the area,” he added.
The traditional leaders expressed their support for the Chairman’s efforts and pledged their cooperation in ensuring a safer Ifelodun.
