The Executive Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, Hadji Abdulrasheed Femi Yusuf, received the report of the committee tasked with assessing healthcare facilities across the local government on Friday.
The committee, established three weeks ago to evaluate the condition of health facilities and propose actionable improvements, submitted a comprehensive report outlining findings and strategic recommendations to enhance healthcare delivery.
During the presentation, the committee chairperson expressed gratitude to the council chairman for entrusting them with the assignment. She also acknowledged the efforts of Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, in renovating healthcare facilities within the local government.
She shared that the committee inspected all basic and primary healthcare facilities across Ifelodun Local Government.
“This report will guide the chairman in implementing necessary reforms to ensure quality healthcare for the people of Ifelodun. We have included formal recommendations for improvement,” she said.
“We also attached graphic details of all healthcare facilities for diligent assessment and consideration. We applaud the exceptional contributions of the local government security outfits, including the vigilante and hunters, for their support to the healthcare worker at the facilities.” he added
Hon. Babatunde Jamiu Akano, another committee member, praised the chairman’s dedication to developing every sector of the local government. He urged the administration to implement the recommendations promptly to improve the well-being of grassroots citizens.
In his remarks, Hadji Abdulrasheed Femi Yusuf expressed satisfaction with the current state and functionality of healthcare facilities in Ifelodun. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to enhancing healthcare standards and ensuring every facility operates optimally.
He revealed that 11 primary health facilities are slated for renovation under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s leadership, with additional support expected from World Bank partners. He appreciated the committee for their thorough work and assured them that their recommendations would be diligently implemented for the benefit of the community.
The committee includes, Hajia Fatima Salahuddeen, Deputy Director of Nursing at UITH Ilorin (Chairperson); Hon. Babatunde Akano Jamiu; Alhaji Mustapha Abolaji; Alhaji Raheem Sodik; Alhaja Tayibat Sulieman; Hon. Dauda Ibikunle, former Supervisory Councillor on Health Development; Hon. Ridwan Kadri; Chief Razak A. Salami (Secretary); and Alhaji Abdulwaheed Olatunji (Recording Secretary).
