There was an impressive and massive turnout, yesterday, July 2,2024, in Omupo Constituency of Ifelodun Local Government Area at the All Progressives Congress primary elections held at the different ward headquarters of the Local Government.

In what was described as a “never seen turnout” by participants at the primary elections held across the 8 wards of Omupo Constituency for the Chairmanship and councillorship seats in Ifelodun Local Government.

Upon visiting the various wards in the Constituency, a clear message seemed to have been passed to the party Hierarchy that Omupo Constituency is ready to take the charge in the leadership of the Local Government.

When our correspondent visited the election ground in Idofian 1 and 2, there was mammoth crowd that posed significant challenge to the electoral officers that came around to conduct the election.

The situation seems not to be different in other wards in the Constituency as can as well be seen in Omupo where the Electoral officers had a herculean time conducting the primary election.

While speaking, the Electoral officer for Omupo Ward who spoke to our correspondent and sought to be anonymous noted that the presence of ward members and constituents at the primary election is a referendum on the party, the leadership of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and the good works of his government.

In the same vein, Hon. AGF Salahuddeen who has been in the forefront of having a constituent member of Omupo Constituency emerge as the Chairman of the Local Government was emotional considering the turnout and show of love which according to him, “A reawakening” had been instituted in the Constituency.

“I am flabbergasted by the turnouts of our compatriots which has clearly shown that we really do mean business in the Constituency.”
“On the flip end of it, I am beyond excited because this massive turnout in my own ward has vindicated the Government of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and that members of my ward and Constituency are satisfied and Impressed with the good work of this ruling All Progressives Congress.
