The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Monday in Katsina, said the All Progressives Congress would mobilise all of its electoral machinery to ensure the victory of its presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, in the February 25 presidential election.

He also called on the Emir of Katsina, Abdulmumini Usman and Emirate Council to mobilise for Tinubu’s victory.

“We will work for his victory at the polls,” Buhari said during a courtesy call at the Emir’s palace in Katsina.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, disclosed this in a statement titled ‘President Buhari presents Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to Katsina Emirate Council, urges full support for victory at polls.’

Speaking at the palace, Buhari said, “We are here to present our candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“Asiwaju has been chosen by our party, and we are fully in support of his candidature, and we will work for his victory at the polls.”

Buhari also personally condoled the leaders and citizens of the state following the recent terrorist attack on vigilantes in Bakori Local Government area of the state, in which at least 41 people were killed.

He said his regime would continue to listen to wise counsels from experts, traditional rulers and political leaders on the economy, and will adopt best practices in safeguarding the interest of citizens.

Meanwhile, the APC presidential campaign rally in Katsina State on Monday was scaled down to a prayer session over the recent murder of over 40 vigilantes in Bakori Local Government Area of the state by bandits.

Despite the presence of Buhari and several participants at the rally, the event was conducted in a sober atmosphere at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium.

In his opening speech, Buhari condoled with the people of Katsina State for the banditry attack they suffered in recent times, urging them to remain courageous and hopeful to defeat terror.

On his part, Tinubu, saluted those who summoned courage to attend the rally in spite of the sorrowful situation.

He equally assured the Katsina electorate of working hard to eliminate banditry in the state.

He said, “We will definitely deal with them. They will not go scot-free. Whether they derive some moment of joy or satisfaction, we are saying we are courageous, we are strong, we believe in Allah and we will defeat them. They are evil. We will eliminate them.”

He charged the participants not to allow what he called “Poverty Development Party” to return to power.

He also donated N100m to the families of the victims of the attacks.

The Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, urged Nigerians not to trust the PDP with power again.
