Jibore Foundation Recognised by NAPWD Kwara for Empowering the Disability Community

Yesterday 29th of October, 2025, at the Kwara State Ministry of Social Development in Ilorin, Mrs. Joy Bolarin Jibore, Executive Director of Jibore Impeccable Foundation, was honoured with the Disability Empowerment Trailblazer Award by the National Association of Persons with Physical Disabilities (NAPWD), Kwara State Chapter, during an event held to commemorate the 2025 World Polio Day.

The award celebrates Mrs. Bolarin’s exceptional contributions to the empowerment, development, and advocacy for the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities in Kwara State and beyond.

In her acceptance remarks, Mrs. Bolarin expressed heartfelt gratitude, describing the recognition as deeply special:

“I feel so good because being honoured by my people, this is the first time I’m receiving an award from my own disability community, and I’m so happy for this.”

She added an inspiring message to fellow persons with disabilities, saying:

“Whatever your disability doesn’t stop you from doing, do it with all your mind and make sure you stand out, because there is ability in disability.”

Mrs. Bolarin, who has consistently championed inclusion and empowerment through the Jibore Impeccable Foundation, has over the years provided skill-acquisition training and educational scholarships for persons with disabilities, including blind and deaf students, while advocating for equal opportunities and visibility for all.

In her reflection, she dedicated the award to her late mentor, Comrade Moshood Agbojulogun, and reaffirmed her commitment to advancing the cause of disability inclusion and empowerment.

The commemorative event also featured other distinguished awardees, including the Commissioner for Social Development, Hon. Nna Fatimmah, Hon. Bello Yunusa Oniboki, Member representing Afon Constituency, Asa LGA, and Abdulwahab Kayode Dalegan, among others.

The 2025 World Polio Day Celebration was organized by the Kwara State Ministry of Social Development, in collaboration with the National Association of Persons with Physical Disabilities (NAPWD), Kwara State Chapter, to recognize individuals and institutions contributing to disability advocacy and to reaffirm the global commitment to a world free of polio.
