Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, will proceed on a three-week medical leave starting August 18, the state government has announced.

The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Dr. Bala Salisu-Zango, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Katsina.

He said Radda would undergo medical check-ups during the period and is expected to return with “renewed energy and dedication” to continue serving the state.

“I want to thank everyone for their kind words and ongoing support.

Taking the necessary steps to prioritise my health is essential, so I can continue to serve effectively and make the best decisions for our state.

I look forward to returning to my duties as soon as I finish my medical check-up,” the governor said.

To ensure uninterrupted governance, Deputy Governor Malam Faruk Lawal-Jobe will take over the responsibilities of running the state in Radda’s absence.

The governor expressed confidence in Lawal-Jobe’s leadership and assured residents that “all ongoing initiatives, programmes, and projects will continue to progress without interruption.”
