The Kwara Progressive Media Organization (KPMO) has commended the Kwara State Television Authority under the leadership of Mr. Olatunde Micheals for reviving and transforming the lost glory of the state-owned television station after over 20 years of its establishment.

Speaking through its Focal Person, Usman Lade noted that the newly rebranded Government-owned TV station, Kwara TV now broadcasts in HD on startimes and free tv and since commenced a 24-hour live broadcast from Ilorin, the state capital with local content.

Speaking further, Usman said “the Kwara State Television ultra-modern studio is a high definition equipped studio that can compete with any other television studio anywhere around the country”.

Recall that on February 1, 2022, we were all excited to witness the switch-on of the 24-hour live transmission of KWTV for the first time in 25 years and the majority of Kwarans took to various social media platforms to express their joy and happiness with the quality of the picture production and sound quality.

“The new development in Kwara TV is a result of a critically thought-out process which started with the appointment of a thoroughbred media professional as the General Manager”, Usman said.

Usman also appreciated the visionary leadership of Kwara Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq by saying “We also on behalf of Kwarans home and diaspora appreciate Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for identifying and allowing the new KWTV General Manager to prove himself through his experiences and media expertise towards repositioning the state-owned television to enable it to showcase all the cultural attributes of Kwara and to ensure that the television station lives up to its core virtue of being set up to serve the government and good people of Kwara State”.

Lastly Usman noted that “Everybody is excited about this new studio that we have and we expect the enthusiasm of the management and staff of the Television Station to translate to greater production”.
