The All Progressive Youth Forum (APYF) Kwara State Chapter has lauded the decision of the State Executive Committee of the Kwara State All Progressive Congress (APC) on their decision to hold transparent, free and fair primaries across boards, especially where it becomes necessary.

Kwara APYF has described such a decision as highly commendable and courageous, as it will build confidence in the minds of prospective aspirants and their respective followers. “It will also strengthen the party in the state and entrenched its compliance with global best democratic practices.” The forum said.

Kwara APYF added that the decision will further endear the party to its members and the general public. It will also be a clear departure from the archaic, autocratic and undemocratic practice of one of the opposition party in the state, the PDP where their leader recently sat in his palour and distributed tickets to his preferred candidates regardless of whether they are contesting for such positions or not and whether such positions aligned with the interests of the party members; a situation not different from the usual imposition they are used to.

Kwara APYF therefore urged the leadership of the party to work hard and be on the guard against both internal and external enemies to ensure they accomplish such an herculean but very important task, as there are saboteurs who will always want to disrupt a smooth process of activuties of the party towards a victorious 2023 general elections for the party.
