•••as state Coordinator declares intent for National Convention
Arising from its 16th State Executive Council meeting held over the weekend, the All Progressive Youth Forum (APYF), Kwara State Chapter has set up a seven-man peace and reconciliation committee to assist in appealing to some aggrieved members and stakeholders within the party.
In a statement signed by the Director of publicity, Salihu Muhammad “According to the resolution of the meeting, the peace move by the forum became necessary in order to support other previous efforts both within and outside the state and carried out covertly or openly by individuals or groups to ensure harmonious relationship among and across every strata of the party in the state.
The resolution noted that even though there were previous efforts towards peace and unity within the progressive folds, which have yielded positive results, there was the need for additional efforts to strengthen the peace and unity within the party, as there is no price that is too much for peaceful coexistence.
In a related development, the State Coordinator of the Forum Babatunde Salau has also used the opportunity to formerly notify Executive and members of the Forum of his intent to vie for the position of National Financial Secretary of the All Progressive Congress (APC) at the forthcoming National Convention of the party scheduled for next month. A decision which all the executives in attendance described as highly courageous, commendable and timely with a promise to give their maximum support to make it a reality.” The statement reads
