Kwara Commissioner for Water resources, Lade urges RUWASSA staff to embrace new Innovations

The Commissioner for Water Resources, Honourable Usman Yunusa lade, has counseled the staff of the Kwara State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency, Ilorin to employ innovations to reposition the core mandate of the Agency.

The Commissioner stated this yesterday during his ongoing familiarisation visit to the agencies under the Ministry.

Hon. Lade said that his visit was to familiarize himself with the activities of the agency to note some of the challenges hindering the effective performance of the agency and to chart a way forward.

He commended the effort of the staff especially the General Manager, Mr. Oladipo Adewumi Olorunfemi, for the wonderful work they have been doing.

He stressed that there is always room for improvement, noting that they need to devise a new method of improving their jobs.

“Let us identify our potential partners and engage our communities by sensitizing them. In addition, we also need to come up with a designed action plan that will highlight all that is required to be done within a stipulated period”

The permanent secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Asonibare Omolola Christiana also said she was impressed with the effort of the staff, adding that their efforts will never go unnoticed by the state government of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration.

She said it is time for things to change for good in Kwara State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency given the high level of commitment and enthusiasm on the part of the new Commissioner.

Earlier, the General Manager, of Kwara State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency, Mr. Oladipo Adewumi Oluwafemi, while briefing the Commissioner on the challenges confronting the agency, stated that RUWASSA now has a new beginning with the coming of a new Commissioner.

The General Manager explained that the UNICEF officers and the Federal Ministry of Water Resources are expected to visit the agency soon to start P Water Wash among other things.

The Commissioner was accompanied on the visit by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Asonibare Omolola Christiana; Director Personnel Finance and Supply, Alhaji AbdulGaniyu Shuabi; Director Water Engineering Services, Engr. Yusuf Wopa and other Management Staff of the Ministry.
