The crisis rocking the Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) took a new dimension today, as the Kwara for Kwara group comprising of young professionals met with the Fagbemi led faction at its State secretariat today, in continuation of its consultations.

The Kwara for Kwara delegation led by its convener Alh. Ishola Moshood and Consultation Chairman, Issa Mutolib Ayobami arrived the Fagbemi led faction’s secretariat, commissioners lodge way, GRA, Ilorin at exactly 12:15 p.m and was ushered into its conference room by its State Financial Secretary, Comr. AbdulGaniyu Yusuf Kure.

The faction’s secretary Alh. Mustapha Isowo, accompanied by the the faction’s Kwara Central Senatorial Chairman, Alh. Memudu Turawa and Treasurer informed the delegation of the factional Chairman Prince Sunday Adeniran Fagbemi’s absence due to delay in flight schedule as a result of cloudy weather.

Speaking on behalf of Kwara for Kwara, Comr. Issa Mutolib, traced the genesis of the crisis within the party to the mode and manner of candidates selection during the 2019 electioneering exercise, which was anything but democratic.

Mutolib said “The illegal removal of the duly elected State Chairman of the party, Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa has brought a huge setback for our party, we’ve lost the cohesion and that’s why our government lacks sincere counsel and internal mechanism reminder of the party’s campaign promises.

“Now, that injustice was upped during the party revalidation exercise where party members loyal to the Bolarinwa faction were denied revalidation of party’s membership, an attempt to shut them out of the party and reintroduce the political absolutism we rejected in yesterday’s political actors” he added.

Mutolib further said “The undemocratic practices, principles and ideals we rejected yesteryears must also be collectively rejected…”

Alh. Ishowo however interjected, insisting that “all the matters being raised are issues beyond the Fagbemi-led APC faction’s control”, stressing that “all those are settled and cannot be reverted”.

Mutolib however insisted on continuing with his submissions, which according to him are the foundation of the internecine crisis within the ruling APC, insisting the peace which has eluded the party can’t come back without the foundation of the crisis as he has highlighted being redressed.

Alh. Ishowo however stood his ground, that all the raised issues are not up for the discussion, which prompted the Kwara for Kwara delegation to stage a walkout from the meeting, ending it in stalemate.
