Kwara Govt resolve to revive Malete Water Works – Hon. Usman Lade

The Kwara State Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Usman Yunusa Lade, has said that the state government will consider ways to bring back to function the Malete Water Works.

The Commissioner stated this during his inspection visit to the facility to get first-hand information on the reason it has since stopped working for a while.

He assured of the state government’s commitment to sustain its continued maintenance of all Water Works in the state to provide a potable water supply to the people of the state.

Taking the commissioner around the facility, the resident engineer for the Water Works, Engr. Gbenga Oladipo informed him that some cables had been vandalized and some boxes and pipes had bursted in some places and would need to be fixed before they could function as required.

The Youth Leader of a community called Yeregi near the Dam, Mr. Ambali Jimoh, appealed to the state government to help restore the drinkable water supply for them to reduce their suffering.

In the Commissioner’s entourage was the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Asonibare Omolola Christiana; Director of Water Engineering Services, Engr. Wopa Yusuf; Engr. Dotun Abioye; Engr. Mohammed Mustapha; and Engr. Adeyemo Tajudeen.
