A political analyst, Mr. Ayenigba Lanre Dada, has advised Governor AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to respect zoning arrangements in local government areas ahead of the upcoming LG polls in Kwara State.
In an interview with Just Event Online TV on Friday, Mr. Dada emphasized that certain local governments, including Asa, Ifelodun, Baruten, Kaiama, Patigi, Ilorin East, Isin, Offa, and Ilorin South, have established zoning practices that should be respected, regardless of party affiliations.
He cautioned against interfering with these arrangements, stressing the importance of preserving local dynamics and promoting harmony in the upcoming elections.
Mr. Dada also urged the people of Kwara State to exercise their democratic right by voting for candidates of their choice on September 21. He warned against vote buying, emphasizing that it is a criminal offense that undermines the development of Kwara State and Nigeria as a whole.
“Let the people vote for their preferred candidates without any coercion or financial inducement,” Mr. Dada said. “Vote buying is a crime that can undermine the democratic process and hinder the development of our state and country.”
