The Ifelodun Grassroots Development Initiative, a socio-political and developmental organization in Nigeria’s largest Local Government Area, wishes to congratulate His Excellency, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq and the duo of Hon AGF Salahudeen and Hon. Rasaq Owolabi on their emergence at the just concluded polls and collection of the Certificate of Return as Governor-Elect and Members-Elect.
In a statement signed by the Convener, Hon. Audu Qudus, he describe the election as landslide winning for the All progressives party.
The statement reads “It is important to state that your victory at the polls is an acknowledgement of your tremendous achievements of the first mandate given to you all by the people in 2019.
The Governor, who is the best of his kind in the state has embarked on “citizens first” initiatives and has made kwarans the fulcrum of his policies and Governance. To crown it all, he has turned the entire state to “an active construction site” with infrastructural developments from the south to the central and Northern part of the State. We believe all what we have witnessed is a tip of the iceberg and we are beyond confident that before the end of the mandate kwarans have reposed on him in 2023, the State of Harmony would have taken a paradigm shift to greatness come 2027.
Legislative business in the state and Ifelodun LGA has been at an abyssmal low level prior 2019 and the advent of Hon AGF Salahudeen of Omupo Constituency and Hon. Rasaq Owolabi of Share/Okeode Constituency have both redefined True Representation for the Local Government with their connection to the grassroots, quality legislative engagement and empowerment of the downtrodden in their constituencies.
The Two constituencies have never had it this beautiful before considering what the state of engagement was before 2019. It is as well worrisome that the Local Government once had the Speaker of the House without positive impact in his constituency and Local Government because he serves interest of his paymasters and godfather who is now rejected other than the good people of the Local Government.
Conclusively, we are therefore using this medium to admonish our Representatives in Hon. AGF Salahudeen and Hon. Rasaq Owolabi to not deviate from the path that had endeared them to the people of Omupo and Share/Okeode Constituencies.
