Yesterday, the Kwara SDGs Activation group meet to plan ahead for 2022 and put structure for the group. The meeting was held at Fun Republic Unity Road as at exactly 5:00pm.

After quick introduction of Volunteer the State Lead, World’s Largest Lesson Mr Kehind Akinsola welcome all volunteers and give a recap of the group for the year 2021, part of which include the visit of Mr Semiye Michael, Executive Director Dean Initiative and Country Representative World Largest Lesson based in United Kingdom, who was in Kwara to launch the UNESCO/Dean Climate Change Action Programme in five schools approved in the State by the Ministry of Education. Also his insightful meeting with volunteers of the Sustainable Development Goals on 8th November, 2021 at Place of Pleasure, Ilorin. Mr Kehind Akinsola proceed to engages Volunteers on Expectations of volunteer, Presentation of next year plans, putting structure for the group, among others

Volunteers were enjoin to be more active on the group which include attending physical and virtual meeting, be an examplary SDGs Advocate and significant impact maker across communities in achieving the SDGs 2030 Agenda.

*Presentation of next year plans*

Among the program for year 2022 is UNESCO/Dean Climate Change Action Programme in five schools approved in the State by the Ministry of Education. The five schools are; Awonga High School, Shao, St. Anthony’s Secondary School, Ilorin, Taufeequllahi Islamic Academy Basin, Ilorin, Faith Academy Ilorin and Government Day Secondary School, Tanke , Ilorin. The workshop is to hold early next year.

*Putting structure for the group*

The Executive Volunteer Positions available are Director of Communications, Director of Programs, Director of Community Engagement, Director of Partnerships, Director of Graphics and Social Media. Volunteers that have interest in any these positions were enjoin to reach out to Mr Kehind Akinsola, the state lead.

It was really a insightful experience and wonderful evening as our volunteers chats, network, drinks and have fun at the end of the meeting. Mr Kehind Akinsola appreciate volunteers for the love, support and wonderful things we have achieved together this year 2021. He wish our volunteers merry Christmas and prosperous year ahead.
