The best graduating student of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin Barakat Jimoh has attributed her remarkable feat to the grace of Almighty Allah.
Speaking at the 29th convocation ceremony of the institution on Thursday, Barakat also commended the state governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Govs Forum, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON, for the various infrastructural developments in the Polytechnic which has provided best conducive learning environment for Staff and Students.
She noted that her educational objectives; To Develop Critical Thinking, Creativity, Analytical Ability, Ethics, Responsibility, Honour, Respect for Others, Empathy, Stimulate and Direct Collaborative Learning and Collaborative Action, Broad Intellectual and Cultural Experience through Active Engagement, an Understanding of the Interactions among the Individual, Society, and the Natural Word, were her guiding principles towards achieving excellence in everything she pursued.
She expressed gratitude to her parents, the Rector, Engr. Dr. Abdul Jimoh Mohammed, and Lecturers across all Institutes, for their supports and inspiration.
She commended her fellow Graduands for their resilience and determination, and urged them to always be good ambassadors of the great Institution.
About Five years ago, I gained admission into this great citadel of learning. On my first day on campus, I set the followings educational objectives as my guiding principles towards achieving excellence in everything I pursued To Develop Critical Thinking, Creativity, Analytical Ability, Ethics, Responsibility, Honour, Respect for Others, Empathy, Stimulate and Direct Collaborative Learning and Collaborative Action, Broad Intellectual and Cultural Experience through Active Engagement, an Understanding of the Interactions among the Individual, Society, and the Natural Word. These were the guiding torch that led me to the Land of Greatness.
I am delighted to be associated with the Department that produced the first Tricycle in Nigeria and the first Pedal Operated (touch-free) Handwashing Machine in Nigeria during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
As the Best Graduating Student for 2022/2023 Academic Session, I offer my thanks to Almighty Allah for this remarkable achievement. It is a testament to the power of the human mind, which can conceive great aspirations leading to remarkable achievements.
