The Kwara State Government has reassured youths of the State of its unalloyed support in the development of their entrepreneurial skills and acquisition.
The First Lady of the State, Her Excellency, Amb. Prof. Olufolake Abdulrazaq stated this at the “Global Entrepreneurship Week, Kwara 2023”, held at the Michael Imodu Institute for Labour Studies.
Her Excellency who was represented by the Commissioner supervising the Ministry of Youths Development, Hon. Usman Yunusa Lade commended the host of the Entrepreneurship Week , assuring them of the State’s immense support in making sure that youths are properly guided and channelled in the right path to entrepreneurial freedom.
Prof. Abdulrazaq who advised youths on creativity and innovations, urged them to take their roles as the largest drivers of the Nigerian economy serious, which can only be successfully attained through entrepreneurship skills.
“This week, professionals from various walks of life have come together to share their success stories and experiences with the youths to create solutions for worldwide economic growth”, she said.
” I urge you all to be creative and committed to your chosen skills, make research, burn the midnight candle and I am confident that success is sure,” she submitted.
The host of the event, Dr. Yemisi Adeyeye, Co-founder, Lifefount Hospital and Lifefount Foundation, stressed the importance of investing in youths as the pathway to excellence in the State.
She commended the efforts of Her Excellency, Amb Prof. Olufolake Abdulrazaq, and presented an award of honour to her in appreciation of her immense support for youths in the State.
One of the Panelists, Sola Rahman of the Sola Rahman Brand, advised entrepreneurs to be accountable and take full responsibilities of their business, stressing that there would be ups and downs but to avoid bankruptcy, challenges should spur them towards resilience and excellence.
Highlights of the programme was the showcase by entrepreneurs who displayed their products such as Adire wears, cooking utensils, oven dried catfish, plantain chips, cosmetics, shea butter, juices in different flavors, cakes, pastries, peanuts and crayfish.
Other business innovations such as, Aduke’s Kitchen, Mobiola Foods, Espoir Empire, Producer of African and foreign wears, Bright Exclusive Fashion Homes, Trinity Optometry Clinic, for free eye test and sales of opticals, Vic Tigered Nuts, Kemsan Acres Global Limited, LifeFount Hospital, among others displayed their products.
Some of the panelists in attendance were, Olusola Abdulrahman, CEO The Sola Rahman Brand; Oluwatosin Akolade, CEO The BookSurgeons; Uzo Okpe, CEO Kiddiesoriod IT; John Ademola, CEO Softrays IT; Samuel Farohunbi, CEO Goodnews Infotech; Isaac Oyetunde, CEO HoghPeace and a UI/UX Trainer.
