The Kwara State Government has reiterated its commitment to eradicating drug abuse among youths in the state.
The Kwara State Supervising Commissioner for Youth Development gave the assurance during an interface with members of Kwara State Television Authority (KwaraTv), today in his office.
Hon. Yunusa Lade emphasized the need to shun drug abuse and vices among the youth, stressing that the abuse and usage is a menace that is affecting the state negatively.
He reiterated the need for parents and guardians to work collectively with the state government to eradicate drug abuse by giving proper training and preaching morality and sanctity to their wards.
“There is a need to come together with relevant stakeholders to fight against drug abuse social menace”
“The future of our youths is very bright and we would not want a situation where peer pressure and bad influence will affect their lives negatively.
“The government recently organized an event to celebrate our successful youths in the creative industry on the 1st of November, where we had a lecture delivered on drug abuse and its effects,” he concluded.
