•encourages Kwarans on security alertness
As the enforcement of ban on commercial motorcycles across six local government areas and nine local council development areas of Lagos State commences today (Wednesday, June 1, 2022), the Kwara Progressive Organization wishes to call the attention of the Government, Security Agencies, and the entire public to the aftermath of the Lagos Okada Ban which may lead to an influx of okada riders into the state and in-turn lead to a sharp rise in crime, especially armed robbery and kidnapping, in the state if proper measures are not taken.
Speaking through its focal person, Usman Lade expresses worry over the indications that some people have infiltrated the ranks of those genuine riders and thereby perpetrating all forms of crime in the state and may constitute serious threats to the lives and properties of Kwarans.
“We are also tasking the Nigeria Police Force and other sister Security Agencies in the State to step up their actions along the borderline in checking the influx of those elements coming into the State without genuine intention”, says Usman.
As a progressive organisation, we are in total commitment and support to the Administrative policies of the Kwara State Government under the leadership of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq in getting rid of all security threats that may hinder the peace and harmony we have been enjoying in the state.
While calling on the public to be more security cautious, Usman also urge the Government and the security agencies in the State to be more vigilant and to be wary of the influx of Okada Riders in the State and the security threat it may foster in the society, especially as the electioneering exercise commences across the country. We are encouraging citizens to be weary of the kind of motorcycle to board and ensure they conduct a proper background check on okada riders.
