The All Progressives Congress in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State has sued for unity amid the forthcoming Local Government Polls in order to guarantee and ensure optimum success at all levels.

The meeting which had major Political office Holders in attendance, was held at the palatial residence of the Honorable Commissioner of Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Segun Ogunsola.
An executive of the party noted that the meeting was held to close ranks among the different tendencies that exist in the Local Government so as not to approach the Polls with a divided house.

Welcoming the Chairmanship and vice Chairmanship candidates alongside the 18 ward councillorship candidates, Dr. Segun Ogunsola expressed his delight at the level of unity and oneness that has now reigned supreme in the party and Local Government. He charged everyone to be committed to the work ahead in order to clear all the available seats for the party and to also complement the good work of his principal, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.

In his own part, the Chairman of the party in Ifelodun LGA, Arc. Abubakar Lukman who spoke on behalf of all the party structures thanked the Hon. Commissioner for Hosting all the candidates of the party and other political officer holder alike for the unity and strategy meeting towards the September 21 Local Government Elections.
Arc. Lukman however sounded a note of warning to all members of the party not to engage themselves in any activity that will be counterproductive to the overall interest of the party in Ifelodun Local Government.
He further emphasised the importance of standing in unison and enjoined all the tendencies in Ifelodun Local Government APC to support all the candidates towards achieving a hundred percent success across all boards in the Local Government.

In his own remark, the Honorable Member representing Omupo state constituency at the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. AGF Salahuddeen expressed his limitless joy and appreciation to God for the success of the primaries and the unprecedented unity that currently pervades the local government as, “never seen before”. The Honorable Member charged all the candidates to be the vanguard of peace and unity in their respective domain as the Local Government can not afford to be in discord at all times.
While responding, the Chairmanship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Ifelodun Local Government Area, Hon. Abdulrasheed Femi Yusuf, who also spoke on behalf of all the flagbearers, expressed his appreciation to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his leadership in the party, Hon.AGF Salahuddeen for his steadfastness in ensuring that the right thing is done and also Dr. Segun Ogunsola for standing by the truth and also ensuring that the right thing was done in order to foster the unity in the Local Government.
He congratulated all his co-aspirants because according to him, “we have all deepened and entrenched the tenets of democracy in our party and Local Government.
He expressed himself further that there is no victor or vanquish in the last primaries and that he’s ready to work with everyone for the progress and success of Ifelodun Local Government noting the dire need of urgency in tackling the various challenges bedeviling the Local Government. While concluding, he thanked the immediate past TIC Chairman, Hon Jide Asonibare for the need to embrace unity and the importance therein for Ifelodun Local Government to progress as one.
The meeting ended on high notes with prayers for the local government and all the flagbearers of the party across board.
The meeting has in attendance, Hon. AGF Salahuddeen, Dr. Segun Ogunsola, Hon Jide Asonibare, Hon. Femi Yusuf, his running mate, Mrs. Nike Ajibola, Arc. Abubakar Lukman, Hon Olabimpe Elizabeth, Local Government Executives, All the 18 councillorship candidates and All the Ward Chairmen led by Alh. Fatai Mustapha Leko.
