The librarian’s voice has an engagement with the so-called Independence day as an act of celebration in Nigeria. As we’re still celebrating the Sixty-two years of being free as a nation that didn’t depend on anything to be surviving, likely means we’re not depending, we’re doing our things within or internally decisions that will not be carried along to other nations since we’ve been given independence.
Well, Nigeria, as a developing nation has to deal with the freeing of poverty, insecurity, standard education, good road construction, the settlement of the educational cases, Stable electricity, payment of salaries; employment the graduates; have been daily information; the building of a good foundation of a good education structure which is a Library!
Now, what are we now celebrating as a developing country that didn’t depend? Are we celebrating our sixty-two years of Independence? I doubt the celebration.
Nigeria as a country has numerous qualities that serve as a lineup of being called an independent nation if all that we’ve can be implemented without being greedy about doing what’s crucial.
Nigeria is a well-respected country that has natural things to be used to generate income within the nation, and we’re still stabbing our back by making it very costly.
Nigeria has a very wide scale of land that can be used for farming to be producing the local food for survivors.
What can we produce? Rice, Beans, Vegetable, Maize, Soya-bean, Yam Etc.
All these local food are responsible of being making us survive! Now, if the price is to be consulted, we’ll see that they’re very costly.
Why Nigeria is just stabbing her citizen with what you’ve naturally and you’re still intentionally making it to be very high in price? We have gifted farmers, which can make it right; and there are people out there that are behind what farmer is farming! Hmmm! Nigeria is a fully greedy country and a fabulous country.
I’m still deliberating on what we’re commemorating. Nigeria has been seen as a country of corruption, Nepotism, tribalism, and Religious crises every day, how can we restructure Nigeria into a better nation that can be very proud of all over the world?
Nigeria Education is weeping, Nigeria Government shows no concern for how students are lamenting the panic of growing older. Four years course is automatically a six or seven years course in the Federal Universities, what are we now celebrating? Can this nation be right? Can this nation worth being given a developing nation? I doubt if the response captures the independence worth celebrating the Sixty-two years of Hunger, Unemployment, Bad roads, a Bad educational system; Poor Educational, Poverty, and unprotected of all our rights.
The Engagement of Librarians has to be concerned with the growth and development of their nation. Nigeria has perpendicular attention to the education of our country. If there’s quality education in the nation, there are ways of reformation by outstanding elites to make things, by debating what’s supposed to be right hands of what’s happening in Nigeria. All these can be possible if the setting of our education related to the economy can be well standardized.
