The Obafemi Awolowo University Muslim Graduates’ Association (UNIFEMGA) hosted its 15th National Honours Day Programme on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Bovina View Hotel, Ilorin, Kwara State. The event, which brought together distinguished professionals and scholars, celebrated excellence and contributions to society, with the theme “Nigeria’s Economic Reforms: Mitigating the Challenges through Sustainable Socio-Economic Measures.”
Among the honourees was Magistrate Adeshina Morenikeji Tajudeen (Ph.D.), a legal luminary whose journey reflects resilience, dedication, and academic brilliance. His recognition at this prestigious event was as a result of his impactful contributions to law, public administration, and Islamic scholarship.
Magistrate Adeshina’s path to distinction began with an early foundation in Islamic education. His academic trajectory saw him earn a Diploma in Arabic and Islamic Studies, a B.A. Ed. in Arabic Language, a Master’s in Public Administration (MPA), and further qualifications in Law (LL.B, LL.M, and Ph.D.). His remarkable ability to integrate Islamic knowledge with modern legal practice has made him a respected figure in the judiciary.
The UNIFEMGA Honours Day is an event that celebrates professionals excelling in various fields while fostering discussions on national development. This year’s program featured a keynote lecture by Hon. Justice Ahmad AbdurRaheem Sayi, who addressed Nigeria’s economic landscape and the role of sustainable policies. Other dignitaries included Emeritus Professor Is-haq Olanrewaju Oloyede, Registrar of JAMB, who chaired the occasion, and Professor Yusuf Olaolu Ali (SAN), the chief sponsor.
Receiving the award, Magistrate Adeshina expressed deep appreciation for UNIFEMGA’s recognition, acknowledging the association’s commitment to professional and community development.
He was honored alongside other outstanding professionals, including Professor Yusuf Olaolu Ali (SAN), Engr. Olanlege Adebayo Abdulfattah, Professor Ismaila Adeniyi Kamil, and Dr. Barakat Adebisi Raji, among others.
