The Foundation for Community Development (MOK Foundation) has launched a 1 million naira market drive aimed at supporting traders at Ipata Market. The initiative, which kicked off recently, has brought relief and joy to beneficiaries who have begun sharing their testimonies.
The market drive is part of the foundation’s efforts to empower local businesses and stimulate economic growth in the community. Traders at Ipata Market were selected to benefit from the initiative, which provides financial support to help them restock and expand their businesses as at when necessary.
Beneficiaries have expressed gratitude to the MOK Foundation for its timely intervention. “This support has come at the right time,” said Mrs. Abdulrasheed Aminat (Iya loja general of Ilorin East LG). “I was struggling to restock my shop, but thanks to the MOK Foundation, I can now provide for my family through continuous sales, Iyaloja submitted.
Another beneficiary, Mallam BABA Maimasa, one of the market leaders, praised the foundation for its commitment to empowering local businesses. “The MOK Foundation’s support has given me the confidence to grow my business,” he said. “I’m grateful for their kindness and generosity.”
The MOK Foundation’s 1 million naira market drive is expected to benefit hundreds of traders at the Ipata market. It will equally extend to major markets in Kwara state. The initiative is part of the foundation’s broader efforts to promote economic development and alleviate poverty in Kwara State.
Speaking to pressmen, Mr. Lawal Temitope Saheed, the executive director of MOK Foundation, highlights the foundation previous achievements in market drive and human capacity development, he mentioned intervention to the good people of Owode market in Offa and markets across Oyun local government area. We are just getting started. We are configured to continuously bring relief to the underprivileged at this trying time, Lawal concluded.
