•••Urges him on SA Students appointment.
The National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS) National Headquarters, the apex indigenous association which consist of indigenous students schooling across Nigerian institutions and diaspora ably led by Comrade MUFTAU Mubarak Shittu (ATUNLUSHE) has commended the decision of the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mall. Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq over the appointment of Comr. (Hon.) Ibrahim Akaje as Kwara State Commissioner and Comr. (Hon.) Prince Sulyman Abubakar Sai Kayi as Special Adviser (Political).
The appointment is a good decision and it further attests to the youth-friendly nature of His Excellency, Mall. Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq. This and many of its numerous kinds are what we expect for Kwara youths.
Going forward, the leadership of our highly referred association use this medium to remind our proactive Governor that on the 16-05-2021, this developmental and peace-oriented association wrote to the State Government on four pressing issues that are of great concern to the students’ community – Bursary payment, the inclusion of private institutions to bursary payment, incorporation of NAKSS leadership into the bursary disbursement committee and request for the appointment of SA Students’ Matters.
In all sincerity, we appreciate the responsiveness of the Governor to have granted part of our demands, at the same time we wish to remind His Excellency that the students’ community is yet to witness positive development on the call to appoint SA Students’ Matters.
According to a letter dated 19th May 2021 with reference number MOTEST/ADM/183/VOL.1/41 which implored the leadership of this association to shelve our protest and give the Government time to redeem the promise. We want to categorically state that, our patience and tolerance are not being paid as expected, particularly on the appointment of SA Students Matters. This appointment, if redeemed, will replicate the eyes, nose, and mouth of students’ constituency in the government.
The entire Kwara students both home and in the diaspora are optimistic that this request will be given utmost and positive attention for the growth and development of the students’ populace.
