*Party supporters vows to deliver convincingly
The Edu All Progressives Congress chairmanship candidate for the forthcoming local government election in Kwara state flagged off his campaign in Lafiagi, headquarters of Edu LGA yesterday with overwhelming support from party members and potential voters.
The entourage of party bigwigs and loyalists from the local government who had unanimously thrown their weights of support behind Alhaji Abdullahi Bello Ndamangoro, led by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Mamman Saba Jibril arrived in the palace of the Emir of Lafiagi, HRH Alhaji Mohammed Kudu Kawu where the candidate paid royal homage on the monarch and sought his blessings amid cheers and victory songs.
Convinced of victory in the September election, party stakeholders and supporters thronged out in their numbers to reaffirm their support for the party and its candidates, underscoring the party’s popularity among the locals, a reflection of its ideals that aligns with the people.
Upon arrival at the Emir’s Palace in Lafiagi, Ndamangoro with high sense of humility and respect sought the support of the Palace in his ambition to lead and advance the cause of genuine change through purposeful representation in the administration of local government.
He observed that the local government, desirous of both human and infrastructure development is in dire need of a chief executive who posseses his sort of administrative experience, competence and exemplary leadership capacity.
The monarch admonished Ndamangoro and the councillorship candidates from Lafiagi Ward I to IV to at all times, put the interest of the people first by upholding democratic principles that will foster transparency and accountability in governance.
The campaign trail moved to Lafiagi Ward I and II to engage with party supporters and voters who expressed their readiness to work Ndamangoro’s emergence in the elections, boasting of their candidate’s topmost leadership credentials that they noted suits the current leadership deficits in local council administration.
At Pututa, headquarters of Lafiagi Ward IV, the turnout of party faithfuls was equally impressive. Lashan Pututa, Alhaji Ibrahim Manko implored the candidates to prioritize peoples’ welfare, emphasising the need for inclusion through community engagement and consultations.
Zambufu, headquarters of Lafiagi Ward III was theast point of call for the campaign trail who on arrival to Zambufu engage with the Ndazhitsu who was quick to remind the candidate of the wide infrastructural gap in his domain and used the medium to call on the team to make strides to bridge the gap.
Alhaji Abdullahi Bello Ndamangoro assured the people of democratic governance that will prioritise people’s welfare. He mentioned that the provision of basic amenities such as quality and affordable healthcare, effective and efficient education, access to potable water and road networks that will aid movement of farm produce from rural to target markets in urban settlements.
The campaign tour continues in Shonga and Tsaragi respectively today.
