The Niger State Ministry of Communications Technology and Digital Economy has received allegations that some officials are demanding bribes before performing their official duties, particularly in payroll-related functions such as processing promotions.
The Ministry, in a statement signed by Suleiman Isah, Commissioner of the ministry, called on the public to come forward with petitions and evidence to support these claims. It emphasised the need for accountability and vowed to address any cases of misconduct within the civil service.
“The general public is hereby urged to submit petitions with supporting evidence to the Office of the Commissioner. Acceptable evidence may include screenshots of chats, transaction receipts, or sworn affidavits,” the statement read.
