Members of the public have been implored to disregard certain rumour on social media, alleging that students of Government Girls Day Secondary School, Pakata, Ilorin, of indulging in feminine secret society or any form of immoral conduct.
This is contained in a communique issued after discreet investigation conducted by members of Parents Teachers Association of the school, chaired by Barrister Abdullateef Lanre Adi in synergy with the school management and other critical stakeholders within the host community.
According to the Communique, the Management and staff of the school are preoccupied with the mandate of educating, counselling and impacting qualitative knowledge and good morals on the students with zero tolerance for indiscipline and other unethical behaviours.
It maintained that no iota of truth in the information being erroneously circulating on the social media to tarnish the good image of the school, noted for academic excellence.
The communique insisted that no student of the Government Girls Day Secondary School, Pakata, is indulging in unregistered society and described such information as baseless, malicious and slanderous as no report of such emanated from the management of the school.
It however, established that students in the junior and senior classes were fully in good health, devoid of any spiritual possession.
The communique therefore, expressed satisfaction with the level of dedication and commitment by the management and staff of the school in maintaining discipline among the students with decency and sanity within and around the school premises.
It also acknowledged the continued mutual understanding between the management, staff and the Parents-Teachers Association in their collective efforts at ensuring orderliness.
The communique confirmed that no palpable fears among the students and staff as teaching and learning are steadily taking place in a peaceful atmosphere in the school.
It therefore, urged parents and guardians to always bequeath sound morals on their children and to insulate them against bad influences
The Communique appreciated the administration of Governor Abdul-Rahman Abdul-Razaq through the State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development as well as the State Teaching Service Commission in transforming the education sector in the state.
