The Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders has called on the northern state governors to create free education for all girl children and adults that have keen interests to be schooled.
Speaking at a media briefing in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja to mark the 2025 International Women’s Day, the convener of the rights group, Victor Thompson said this would “aid more participation in national decion-making particularly in politics to boost the strugggle for the 35% affirmative action for women.
” The group called on “President Bola Tinubu and all state governors not to relent in priotising the appointments of more women into their cabinets ahead of the 2027 general election particularly at the grassroots.”
The rights group further used the occasion to call on the Senate President Godswill Akpabio, to handle the case of the suspended Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan with diligence so as to promote unity in the Senate.
The coalition is made of different youth groups from the 36 states in the country which aimed to foster unity and peace in all regions.The coalition pledged unwavering support for all noble women who have lost their voices.
They expressed their commitment to stand by genuine victims of harassment and abuse, emphasising the importance of amplifying women’s voices in the face of adversity.
